Plein Air Idyllwild 2024 Artist Information
As you wander around the small town of Idyllwild, you will see many things that inspire the artist within you. Tahquitz Rock majestically sits above our town, inviting many to climb her. Also called Lily Rock. Huge sequoias adorn the circle alongside the town statue of a bear, wolf, mountain lions and an eagle, carved of wood. Charming buildings and cabins surrounded by lush woods and meadows filled with native rose bushes. Strawberry Creek flows through town and you will find native strawberry plants and ferns. Inspiration is everywhere for Plein Air painting. Here is a list of possibilities, it’s up to you!
Idyllwild Park - Center of town. Bathrooms in the Fort Building, downstairs. The Art Alliance Steampunk Deer stands guard.
Many painted deer decorate Idyllwild, all different!
Upstairs at The Fort - Wonderful views from this location. Just leave room for passersby, the vendors won’t mind.
Lake Fulmor - 7 miles North of Idyllwild along Route 243. Minimal parking fee. Bathrooms.
Idyllwild Regional Park, Entry Fee, bathrooms and picnic tables. Large grass meadow with beautiful views and large trees.
